    A. There’s no “right” way to listen to music. You listen to what you WANT to hear.

    B. If music was all about the words then I guess classical music isnt music is it?

    C. If lyrics are that important to you then perhaps you should be reading poetry rather than listening to music.

    D. Lyrics can be deep but it’s how you sing or say your lyrics. He sang it much better than Kanye.

    I don’t see how:
    A. Kanye giving permisson
    B. Kanye liking the Fray
    proves that Kanye’s version is better.

    Also your forth point: “you cant compare hip-hop and r&b to soft rock” completely negates your whole argument saying that Kanye’s version is better.

    The Fray:
    A. Sang it better
    B. instrumentally it sounded more organic than Kanye’s version

    It’s all about individuals genre preference.. some like rnb, some rock..
    In my case.. I prefer this version
