What are the disadvantages of new song leaks?

What disadvantages does it bring to the artist if him/her new song is leaked few days before the actual day its suppose to be released?

I really see no disadvantages. Only that it got released before the artist intended it to.

    Instead of buying the cd, people might decide they don’t like it and not get it.
    They lose millions of dollars a day in cd sales due to downloads.
