Which is better ipod or mp3 for vidoes and music?

I am thinking of getting the ipod nano 4th generation to listen to music and have more vidoes on it though, but for cheaper there are mp3 players that can do the same….. so i was wondering is it worth getting the ipod or just getting a mp3.

Depends on the features you want.

Sony, Archos, have very good players, So are the Sansa, Lyra lines.

The Zen line (Creative Labs) are excellent players and I’d recommend them easily.

The Zen has advantages over other players because:

-sound quality, they are sound card designers, and every Zen produced has outstanding sound quality.

-radio, you never know when you might want to check the local news.

-SD card slot, you can buy a 2 or 4 Gb machine and add a card to add more space. The good thing about this is that you can buy the lower priced model and still end up with more memory than much higher priced machine. And if the machine get’s broken, you can reuse the card on another machine.

-plays more formats of audio and video than most other players

-drag and drop capable

The only brand I DON’T recommend are iPods. They are overhyped, overpriced machine with almost no features, and has to be used with iTunes which, every machine I’ve seen with iTunes, has had problems with it/because of it. 1. I have an ipod and it works good for music and videos, mp3s I don’t like quite as much.

  2. If you want to get a video/music playing mp3, get a iPod touch. The screen on the Nano isn’t hardly big enough for videos. Do not get the Classic, it’s hard drive based so, if you’re running with it, it might get messed up.

    Edit : An iPod is a MP3.

  3. I used to think that mp3s and mp4s were better but then i got an ipod. ipods are a lot easier to get videos onto compared to mp4s but itunes does take up a lot of space on your computer. They both have there plus and minuses. if the mp3 player you found does the same thing for cheaper the price then go for that. In the end price is a huge factor.

  4. an ipod is a lot better because it has a lot more features than an mp3. it also depends on what type of ipod you get. do not get the shuffle because it does not have a screen so if u put a lot of songs on it that could be very confusing trying to find one song out of 150
